Strategic internationalisation

The Portugal Excecional 2030 operation aims to strengthen the global presence of the Portuguese agri-food sector. With the support of COMPETE 2030, it helps companies analyse markets, share knowledge and promote themselves in strategic international markets, particularly in the North, Centre and Alentejo regions.

Deolinda Silva, Executive Director at PortugalFoods, comments that “the Portugal Excecional 2030 Project reinforces the internationalisation strategy of the Portuguese agri-food sector, continuing more than a decade of work by PortugalFoods, affirming Portugal as a producer of excellence and promoting innovation, quality and differentiation in global markets.”

Training and access to information

The operation develops workshops, webinars and events open to all companies, allowing small and medium-sized enterprises to learn about trends, opportunities and tools for internationalisation. The manager emphasises that “it complements other PortugalFoods initiatives, integrating innovation, qualification and international promotion programmes in a coordinated approach that creates synergies, broadens the scope of actions and strengthens the agri-food ecosystem, offering companies knowledge and tools to grow sustainably.”

High-impact actions

Initiatives include international trade fairs, hosting foreign buyers, contact with counterpart entities and differentiated promotion campaigns. As Deolinda Silva explains: “With the decisive support of COMPETE 2030, the project takes the form of high-impact actions, such as participation in international trade fairs, welcoming foreign buyers, contact with similar entities and differentiated promotional campaigns. This framework allows for a rigorous analysis of markets, identifying opportunities and trends that guide more effective initiatives.”

Portugal Excecional 2030 ensures that every investment in internationalisation is based on solid knowledge and clear strategies. Deolinda Silva emphasises that “in this way, Portugal Excecional 2030 strengthens the sector’s international presence, ensuring that every investment in promotion and internationalisation is based on solid knowledge, generating results and enhancing the Portugal brand on the global stage.”
