Portugal had a strong presence at the main international footwear fair, consolidating its position as a global benchmark. Participation was supported by COMPETE 2030.

A strengthened presence

With 75 Portuguese companies, Portugal strengthened its representation at the world’s largest trade fair for the sector. The initiative, supported by COMPETE 2030, made it possible to present innovations and strengthen business contacts.

The Portuguese delegation included Alexandra Vilela, President, and Carla Leal, Member of the Board, representing COMPETE 2030, as well as Madalena Silva, AICEP Advisor. Participation was essential to increase the visibility of Portuguese footwear in international markets.

Innovation and quality in the spotlight

The sector stood out for its commitment to quality, design and sustainability. Many companies presented innovative solutions, from ecological materials to more efficient production processes.

Visibility and demand for Portuguese products exceeded expectations.

A boost for internationalisation

Taking part in the MICAM fair was a strategic step towards consolidating the presence of Portuguese footwear in demanding markets. With the support of COMPETE 2030, the companies had access to conditions that facilitated international promotion.

‘The Portuguese footwear sector continues to surprise us with its dynamism and capacity for innovation,’ said Luís Onofre, President of APICCAPS. ‘Participation in these events is essential if we are to maintain our competitiveness at a global level.’

‘This event showed that Portuguese footwear is increasingly recognised for its quality and innovation, which opens doors to new markets,’ added Luís Onofre. The fair ended with positive results and new business opportunities. Portuguese footwear came out stronger and better prepared for future challenges.
